SULFURIC ACID
Sulfuric acid boasts a diverse range of applications in numerous areas, but it does not occur abundantly in nature.
Aluminium
Aluminum belongs to the family of light metals. With a density of 2.7 kg/dm3, it reduces the weight of the final product as well as CO2 emissions.

CO2 EMISSIONS
A permanent reduction in emissions, including CO2, cannot be achieved without increasing the rate of recycling. Materials recycling, whether it’s metal or chemicals, is an essential component of this.
CHEMICALS:
Sulfuric acid (H2SO4) is a very important chemical. It is one of the most-used industrial chemicals, with a global market volume of approx. 250 million tonnes per year (based on 2020 figures) that is set to rise even further. To really underline the importance of sulfuric acid, let us compare it to the well-known metal aluminum: The annual volume of the sulfuric acid market is four times greater than that of the aluminum market. However, sulfuric acid tends to fade into the background as it is not visible in everyday life, and most people are unaware of just how important it is.
The significance of sulfuric acid is not only demonstrated by these large quantity flows, but also by the huge range of applications in which it is used in various industries.
Sulfuric acid is used in the metal industry, the iron and steel industry, the fertilizer industry, the dye industry, the textile fiber industry, the leather industry, detergent production, and is required for wastewater treatment, to name but a few of those applications.
Aluminium:
It is hard to imagine our world, and even our daily lives, without aluminum. With a market volume of around 65 million tonnes, the aluminum market is the largest among the non-ferrous metals.
This light metal is omnipresent. It is used in automotive manufacturing, in aviation, in building construction, in the packaging industry (including for food products), in the electronics industry, and in connection with a range of renewable energy equipment like wind turbines and solar panels. Aluminum is a metal that is very ductile and light, but also boasts an anti-bacterial effect.
Aluminum recycling is important in terms of conserving resources and further reducing CO2 emissions.
SECONDARY RAW MATERIAL: ONE MAN’S SCRAP IS OUR REUSABLE RAW MATERIAL
Metal recycling allows the raw material aluminum to be reused. Aluminum products can be found everywhere: in packaging (e.g. cans), in the automotive industry, construction, etc.
Aluminum can be reused over and over again. The energy required to produce recycled aluminum amounts to only 5% of that required in order to produce primary aluminum. This reduces emissions and conserves resources. Aluminum can usually be used for a very long time, which is a huge advantage: At present, around three quarters of the aluminum ever produced is still in use. Aluminum scrap is processed, re-smelted, and made into new end products.
Did you know…
that around three quarters of the aluminum ever produced is currently still in use? And that the majority of it has already been recycled multiple times and is now in use in the third or fourth generation of products? It is entirely possible that aluminum produced in 1888 can now be found in your laptop or smartphone case.
We make closed loops
Residual materials, by-products, waste, scrap – these are all important raw materials for us.
